An ‘urban fairytale’, Beautiful Thing is a coming of age story about coming out. With comedy and a touching love story, 15-year-olds Jamie and Ste, under the gaze of their London neighbourhood, become friends, then lovers. The film had a cinema release in the mid-’90s, and is now finally available on DVD through Love Films.
