Brisbane Hustlers need your help to get them to Bingham

THE 2014 Bingham Cup is about to hit the shores of Sydney, in a competition that will bring the eyes of the world to Australia for some amazing games of rugby union.

One team hoping to build upon its victory at this year’s Purchas Cup and go the distance to bring home another win is the Brisbane Hustlers.

Overcoming the local gay rugby derby favourites, the Sydney Convicts, to claim a decisive victory in March’s competition in Brisbane, was not an easy feat for the recently-reformed team and they hope to do their supporters proud at Bingham.

The Hustlers are hosting a fantastic trivia night this Saturday, June 21, in order to raise crucial funds to get all the team down to Sydney to compete later this year.

The night will be held at the Fortitude Valley venue, Lightspace, which last year hosted a cocktail party for the Gay and Lesbian Business Network with their special guest Magda Szubanski.

The Hustlers trivia night will be an entertaining mix of games, knowledge, raffles, auctions and prizes – featuring a top prize of $1000.

The team will be holding a number of other fundraisers coming soon, including a screening of the acclaimed documentary, The Rugby Player, about the namesake of the Bingham Cup, Mark Bingham.

In more good news, the boys will be returning with another much-loved Rugger Bugger strip night in August.

Tickets for the trivia night are $35 and can be booked here.
