Frontrunners turn 28

Frontrunners turn 28

LGBTI running group the Sydney Frontrunners celebrates its 28th birthday on Saturday, November 19.

The Bandstand Restaurant in Darlinghurst will host the dinner and presentation evening, which is $40 for members and $45 for non-members. Payment can be made in cash at Frontrunners events or electronically.

Guests can expect a four-course Italian food menu, with a glass of champagne on arrival. The group will also present awards and prizes to members who have performed well in 2011.

The dinner comes off the back of a solid showing by the Frontrunners at the Maroubra Fun Run.

Established in 1974 in San Francisco, the sporting group arrived in Sydney in 1983.

The Frontrunners hold weekly Saturday runs which include a 5km run around Centennial Park and a more challenging 12km run around Bronte Beach and back, as well as regularly competing in the City to Surf and Sydney Marathon.

Next on the Frontrunners calendar is a run and swim at Clovelly on December 3, followed by a breakfast provided by the club.
