The Bentstix Hockey Club will hold its annual Pink Hockey Tournament on Saturday, February 26, at the St George Hockey Centre in Kyeemagh.

Now in its sixth year, the social day starts at noon and players can register as a team or as individuals. Teams of seven to nine players may be mixed or unmixed.

The tournament will play to modified rules, including half-field, 20-minute halves and no goalkeepers.

With the Sydney winter hockey competition set to start on Saturday, March 26, the club is also calling for new players.

“We’re in need of some new blood this year,” club secretary Charlie Lowe said.

“A number of players have moved overseas since last season and we need to replace them.”

Bentstix Have A Go At Hockey Day is on Sunday, March 13 and will be the club’s first official training session for the winter season. It’s the perfect opportunity for prospective new players to come along and have a go.

“Players of all calibres are welcome and it doesn’t matter if you’ve never played before — we’ll teach you,” Lowe said.

info:  The Pink Hockey Tournament is $45 per player, $35 for Benstix and $40 for NMG members. Pre-register online at www.bentstix.com.au
