Positive Pedalers

The 2nd annual Positive Pedalers Ride, held to support World AIDS Day, will take place this weekend.

Sydney Spokes, the gay and lesbian cycling club, in conjunction with Sydney City Council and Randwick City Council will host the 2011 event on Sunday, December 4.

Oxford St bike shop Woolies Wheels will provide cycling goodies for the lucky first 40 riders to show on the day and there will be a bike repair workshop from 9am at Taylor Square with mechanics on hand to help out with minor repairs. The ride begins from outside Kinselas at 10am.

Free brunch will be provided for by Randwick City Council, and then a longer ride will continue for those that wish to keep cycling.

The purpose of the ride is to encourage HIV-positive people their friends and family to join the two wheel revolution and discover the health and environment benefits of cycling, and enjoy a fun day out.

Riders are asked to bring helmets, sunscreen and water.

It’s a free event.
