THE creators behind The Gay Women Channel on YouTube have created a video that aims to break down homophobia by making supposedly homophobic people hug a gay stranger for the first time.

The video, which has had close to four million views, is another in the style of the First Kiss viral video that saw 20 strangers kiss for the first time. It subsequently turned out to be an ad for a clothing store.

First Gay Hug video directors have said that while their video included some actors, the dialogue was all unscripted.

Last week, the Star Observer shared a similar video, created by New Zealand-based group Love Your Condom with the aim of encouraging same0sex attracted men to use condoms every time they have sex.
