No Glee for One Million Mums

AN openly-gay TV producer and Glee have been laid out over the knee and given an old-fashioned spanking by American non-profit family group One Million Mums.

OMM, who have in the past spoken out against companies like JC Penny for using lesbian talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in their ads have criticised Glee for their 2013 Christmas special who “should not and will not get a free pass to make a joke of Christmas”.

In an email to the shows network advertisers, OMM wrote:

“Other religions do not tolerate this behaviour and as Christians we will not either. Why any producer or network feels mocking a sacred and religious holiday where Christians celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ is acceptable is beyond me. GLEE should not and will not get a free pass to make a joke of Christmas. This is not the first time the show has aired blasphemous content in their program. Glee producer Ryan Murphy is used to pushing the moral boundaries on his show, but last week’s episode went too far. The mockery of the Christmas story was blasphemous and an abomination.”

The show featured transgender student Unique portraying the Virgin Mary in their high school’s nativity scene and acts out giving birth to the baby Jesus.

The doll representing Jesus wore a sequin diaper and was thrown from singer to singer while they sang Love Child, Never Meant to Be. Baby Jesus is tossed around like a rag doll and in another scene, a bisexual Sexy Santa, gets two female characters and the show’s gay male character drunk before robbing them blind – after making out with and tying the male character up in bed. These same females in a previous scene are elves at the local mall while wearing skimpy elf costumes.

Do you think this is too naughty for Christmas, or a little bit nice?

  1. You fail to mention the scene where:
“transgender student Unique portraying the Virgin Mary in their high school’s nativity scene and acts out giving birth to the baby Jesus” was actually supposed to be a shocking and inappropriate scene, and said as much in the show. It was supposed to be one of those Christmas lesson things.

So who cares what these old hags think? This episode isn’t the worst christmas special I’ve seen, and it won’t be the last. This group picks and chooses their fights to suit them. In reality, they should be waging wars against almost every show based on their beliefs. Why aren’t they? They go for the (supposedly) easier targets, trying to sway other parents.

IK have news for you hags, no one but you cares!

  2. The person that has written this article has not quoted where he got the story from, he did not write the story and has committed plagiarism. If I had to guess I’d say he hasn’t written any of his story’s since he has been writing for Star Observer

  3. Omg..get a life. Christmas was conveniently created by christians to cover a pagan holiday. Good on glee..who cares about OMM.. a bunch of crummy pathetic middle class self serving troglodites. No one with more than one brain cell takes them seriously.

  4. It’s funny when people think Christmas is a Christian holiday.
When really it was stolen from the Pagans.

  5. The content of this episode is atrocious! Losing respect for GLEE. it was a completely unwanted mockery of a sacred holiday. As OMM pointed out, no other religion would’ve taken it lightly had they been mocked. Ryan Murphy must issue a public apaology.
