The Human League – Credo
Arch new-wave electro stars The Human League return with an album of new material for the first time in a decade, and little has changed — for them, at least — since their ’80s heyday. Their lyrics remain as naff as ever (single Night People is a particularly bad offender, with its cry to “Gather up your skirts and trousers/ Put on your best frocks and blouses/ Time to go out from your houses/ Must we creep round like the mouses?”), but there’s something lovably reassuring in hearing Phil Oakey and the girls back together again.
