Husband-and-wife team Wayne Hope and Robyn Butler’s ABC comedy The Librarians continues in its usual madcap manner for series three, out now on DVD, with head librarian Frances O’Brien facing new challenges this series when she’s forced to turn her public library into a profit-making enterprise.

While the writing veers – at times haphazardly – between sharp, The Office-style observational humour and broad farce, the strong performances by a supporting cast of talented comedians (Roz Hammond is a particular highlight) make it worth a watch.
