Seriously, can Glee get any gayer? As if the first season’s offering of classic tracks getting the chorale make-over wasn’t camp enough, the boys and girls from the hit TV show have tackled some of Madonna’s greatest. The stand-out track is Like A Prayer, but it is followed closely by the Open Your Heart/Borderline mash-up and Jane Lynch’s comedic take on that Material Girl staple, Vogue. If there’s a weak point, it is What It Feels Like for A Girl which seems a tad sleepy for the rest of the upbeat album. But when put in the context of the show it is given a new life. The verdict? Madonna must be loving the resurgence of interest in her older material — and that’s probably a good thing given the mediocre offerings we’ve seen from her in recent years.
