IN news sure to shock the music world and many of his adoring fans, it has been confirmed legendary singer David Bowie has died.

The 69-year-old died following an 18-month cancer battle confirmed by his son on Twitter and Bowie’s official Facebook page:

Only two days ago on his birthday, Bowie released what would be his final album Blackstar.

Born in 1947 in London, Bowie was not only a musical pioneer but he became a gay icon known for his gender-bending costumes.

He is survived by his wife Iman and two children.
