THE first trailer for new TV series The Family Law, based on the best-selling memoir of Benjamin Law, has just been released.

The series, set to air on SBS in 2016, tells the experiences of 14-year-old Benjamin Law growing up in a dysfunctional Chinese-Australian household during one unforgettable summer.

As well as detailing his eccentric and humorous family stories, Benjamin also comes to terms with his homosexuality.

The cast includes TV newcomers Trystan Go who stars as a young Benjamin Law, Shuang Hu as eldest sister Candy, George Zhao as older brother Andrew, Karina Lee as Tammy and Vivian Wei as Michelle. Parents Jenny and Danny Law will be played by Australian actress Fiona Choi and Anthony Brandon Wong.
