Wrestling an apology

Wrestling an apology

Wrestler star Mickey Rourke is not making many friends in the gay community, refusing to apologise after calling a journalist a “faggot” last year.
According to The Advocate online, the slur was captured on video and shows an obviously drunk Rourke having a go at a journalist for a story suggesting Rourke was dating actress and Wrestler co-star Evan Rachel Wood.
“She’s a good friend, that’s it. And tell that f—ot who wrote all that s— in the paper I’d like to break his f—ing legs,” Rourke said.
Rourke has since refused to apologise, saying he has many gay friends.
“I have more gay friends than any 50 straight people I know, so I don’t really give a s—,” he said.
“I meant what I said,” UK newspaper The Sun reported.

  1. It’s ashame he won’t apologise because he came this close to being a gay icon. What man wouldn’t be attracted to an alcohol-soaked, weather beaten Mickey Rourke?

  2. And if he said the “N” word over there??? I feel very offended by the F..got word as do most of my friends. It brings back bad memories of being yelled at out of car windows, and demeaning American movies & tv shows- those movies need to stop using it so it’s not part of the popular culture vocabulary. Imagine if new release movies used the “N” word as a curse word all time??? It’s not good enought. I don’t like hearing it, & certainly never even use it within my own community (unlike words such as queer which we’ve been able to claw back into our own, yet “F” still has so much power in current popular culture we’ve got no chance with that one). It’s the same how women don’t like being called the “C” word.
