AIDS Awareness Week kicks off on November 24 with ACON Northern Rivers holding their Tantalizing Trivia fundraiser that evening.

This evening of frivolity and brains will be held at the Lismore Workers Club in the glamorous Platinum Room. The night starts at 7pm and food is available earlier from the club bistro. As it’s a ‘school night’, we will be done and dusted by 10pm.

The Lismore Regional Gallery has a great exhibition by renowned Indigenous artist Tracy Moffatt and plenty of other great art on show, so it’s a great time to get on down and immerse yourself in some artistic culture.

On December 4 there will be another socially and physically engaging Beats, Bowls and Blingo. Come along for a fun afternoon and test out your bowling skills in a relaxed environment. This event is held at Lismore Bowling Club and is for all the family.

Red ribbons will be available for sale right across the Northern Rivers region during AIDS Awareness Week. On Thursday, December 1, red ribbon sellers will be at Lismore Square, the CBD, Nimbin, Byron and other regional towns. Buy a red ribbon and show your support. All funds raised from red ribbon sales will assist people living with HIV/AIDS across NSW.

This year the Candlelight Vigil will be held on World AIDS Day, December 1 at 7.30pm at the Spinks Park Gardens Rotunda (behind the Croquet Club), Molesworth St, Lismore. Everyone is welcome to attend.

As the festive season approaches, why not drop into Tropical Fruits and attend their community Xmas party on Sunday, December 4 at the Fruitbowl. A BBQ lunch will be provided. It kicks off at 11am. For details, please call 02 6622 6440.
