Time to celebrate

It is the month for women with International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8. There are various activities for women taking place and due to space not all are mentioned here. For more details of International Women’s Day activities, ring Amber.

On March 9 from 9.30am till 1pm the Lismore and District Women’s Health Centre in conjunction with Lismore City Council is hosting a women’s storytelling circle at Goonellabah.

If you would like to support the Lesbian Health Project and meet other women come to the new Women’s Group to be held on the second Wednesday of every month.

The first meeting is 11 March from 5pm at ACON, 27 Uralba St Lismore. For details, ring Amber.

A Women’s Pampering Day for HIV+ women will be held on 20 March from 10am. Organised by ACON, SHAIDS and a local positive woman, the day will include relaxation, information and massage. Any inquiries, ring Roy.

BGF will be offering outreach to Byron Bay, Kyogle and Lismore from 18 – 20 March and to the Coffs Harbour area on 29 April and 30 April. New and existing clients welcome. To arrange an appointment contact BGF directly on 1800 651 011 or speak with your local service provider.

On March 19, 4pm-8pm ACON host a workshop with a difference for gay men, on the topic -˜HIV: the basics’. The workshop will be held at Tropical Fruits headquarters. For details or to register, ring Sioux.

ACON Northern Rivers Gay Men Living with HIV Retreat will be held from Friday 27 March till Sunday 29 March 2009. This is a popular event so register soon.
