Winter in Wollongong

Winter in Wollongong

Winter is well on the way if my morning walks are anything to go by, so for those looking to travel to Wollongong in July it is worth packing some warm clothes.

Why would anyone be travelling to Wollongong in July, you may ask? The answer is Queer Collaborations, which Allsorts University Queer Collective will be hosting this year at the University of Wollongong.

Queer Collaborations is the annual university queer student conference held each July that brings queers from all over Australia together to talk politics and burning issues, take part in education workshops, make friends, party and generally have an awesome time queering it up with your peers.

Registrations are now open, so be quick to book your place. For more info, visit the Facebook group, Queer Collaborations Wollongong 2010, or email [email protected]

On Saturday, May 22 the ACON Illawarra Community Space will play host to a forum for GLBT groups throughout the Illawarra and Shoalhaven area. The forum will run from 1-3pm and cover topics related to the running of GLBT community groups, their history, purpose and current relevance to all our needs.

This will be a facilitated discussion with lots to get through and we look forward to seeing as many of our community members there as possible. It will also be a great time to catch up with old friends and meet others from across the area.

For further information or to register your interest in attending, contact Nadia at ACON Illawarra on 4226 1163.
