One third of UK dance music group known as Bimbo Jones, producer Lee Dagger has worked with and remixed Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Pink, Adam Lambert, Kylie Minogue and Ke$ha.

And this year he’s heading to CoolChange Harbour Party ’12 and ruling over ‘Candyworld’ in the RHI at Mardigrasland. There’ll be “plenty of hot bootlegs mixed live, classic and new remixes of Kylie, Rihanna, Pink, Lady Gaga, Britney,” Dagger said.

“I always like to mix it up and keep people on their toes. I always read the crowd at every gig so both sets could vary.”

It’s not Dagger’s first time in Sydney’s gay scene either. He’s played a gig at ARQ and he opened for surprise act George Michael at the 2010 Sydney Mardi Gras Party with his remix of Katy Perry’s single Hot ’n’ Cold.

Dagger couldn’t be happier to be back.

“I love it. One of the best parties in the world.”

With more than 20 years of DJing under his belt, Dagger has worked with many artists, but some are more memorable than others.

“Writing in Vegas with Kristine W on her ranch was fab, also flying to LA to meet Cyndi Lauper was unreal,” he said. “She is an awesome talent. I also loved working with Sergio Mendes on his album in 2009. Such an honour.”

But it’s not just remixing that Dagger is known for. He’s been ferociously writing tunes for his debut album as Lee Dagger.

“Last year I had 52 flights,” he said. “Expect to hear my debut Lee Dagger album feature collaborations with Kristine W, Crystal Waters, Laura LaRue from San Francisco, Audrey Valorzi from Paris, Liz from Atomic Kitten, Kelsey B from LA, and a new single out soon in the USA.

“It will be called Leave it on the Dancefloor by Tion Phipps and Lee Dagger.”

Most artists would die to even collaborate with one of Dagger’s long list of work partners, but even he has a few artists he wishes to work with, and some he wants to see again.

“I would love to write with heaps of people such as Missy Elliot, Lady Gaga, Pink, Rihanna, Snow Patrol, Coldplay,” he said.

And Dagger said there was one person he wouldn’t mind opening for at this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras Party. “KYLIE, please!”
