Wiggles World

The moment the ad came on TV, I knew it was going to be an event road trip.  The mini men started screeching about how they wanted to go to ‘Wiggles earth’.  My eldest (that sounds so grown up considering he is only four) raised his hands in the air (he gets that from his dad) and proclaimed with his eyeballs spinning, that we were all going to go to Wiggles World..

It was like the Griswalds Family Vacation.  Mum and Dad taking turns driving, visiting crazy relatives in far flung places and watching the boys projectile vomit every five minutes.

I left work early and made it to the kids on the Friday afternoon, opening up the car door to two very excited little men, squealing and hooraying. My eldest produced his drink bottle which had Super Girl flying around the base and  he commented as a matter of fact ‘Dad, it’s Superman with the wrong hair’..  It was so funny, yet he’d thoughtfully reminded me to investigate my wig purchase for next years DIVA.

I’ll save you the trip north stories of car sickness and wee breaks, but I seriously cannot believe how many McDonalds’ there are.  My boys affectionately call it ‘Chippies House’ and it was alarming when even they got tired of screaming it out after 20 sightings along the way.  Finally Macca’s has lost it’s charm…

Wiggles World was great, I don’t recall seeing so many delicious daddies all out and about in one place before.

The Big Red Car attendant was Stonewall fluff quality, he was gorgeous.  All the mums loved him as he smiled sweetly and offered to take photos for them as they stepped onto the ride.  Fluff and I nodded knowingly when it was our turn….

Next stop, the rubber ball forest.  This was the best thing you can do in Queensland with your clothes on.  You fill up mock guns and canons with rubbery balls and air shoot them at friends and foes in a large caged area…a bit like the old Manacle really, just with brighter lights.

I locked eyes with one daddy in the forest and shot a few balls at each other with feined disinterest.  Daddy enjoyed the forest so much, that my ex had to come and get me to move to the next ride with the mini men!

Next issue: Mary had a little lamb and a helpful waitress with a grater
