And the dramas begin!

And the dramas begin!

I have prayed for this time to come. A new year — 2010.

The absolute hell of Christmas is over for another year — thank God. You know my son didn’t even bother to call me this year! The little bastard! I just hope Santa was very unkind to him and that he got no presents and ate so much he vomited. Aren’t I a model parent?

My New Year’s resolutions are three:

1. Stop having sex with bisexual/ straight/ trannie-chasing men.

2. Stop making an effort with those who do not make an effort with me.

3. Keeping my weight below 85kgs.

Is any of this possible, or is my magic eight-ball lying to me again? Are any of our New Year’s resolutions possible? Or is it just the alcohol whispering sweet nothings?

Do we just spend the New Year making up shitty resolutions we will never achieve?

Let’s see what 2010 brings for me. By the end of the year I would like to have a boyfriend and be in a stable, functional relationship. Soon I will visit the local deaf and blind adult clinic to see what offerings I have available…

It will be an interesting year ahead on all accounts. The western Sydney social calendar has already started off with a dreadful bang.

The latest reports from the Three Sisters Social Group have advised that following their cancellation of the York Fairmont Resort booking for the June 13 Grand Ball (due to ‘exceptional operational difficulties’), their alternative venue — the Palais Royale — has also fallen through. The committee has postponed the Grand Ball at this stage and will keep members up to date as events unfold.

What a nightmare! After 29 years they have no venue for the Ball. The Saturday night talent quest and disco will still go ahead as planned on June 12.

Also cancelled for 2010 is the Pollys Club’s annual Mardi Gras harbour cruise. The committee did not believe it was an affordable or viable option this year and will therefore kick off their dances on March 27.

At least my baby, Heaven Social Dance, has lived another year and locked in dates for all of 2010. Of course this year has already started on a dire note with Lola’s show ‘Bad Girls’ falling in a complete heap.

Fortunately, Laydee our newest cast member has saved the day with ‘Drags can hear the bells’, which will run on February 13 and April 10.

Queer Out West 89.3FM has just celebrated seven years in its current format. The coming year looks to be a fresh and exciting year with new presenters and producers taking to the airwaves… so tune in to listen to all the excitement and drama unfold!

Until next time, gorgeous!
