Freezone looks to even the score

On Saturday 6 June Freezone Volleyball Club made the trek down to Melbourne for the Snowgum/Eagle Leather Winter Slam Tournament, hosted by the Melbourne Spikers Volleyball Club.

Freezone sent 1 A-Grade and 3 B-grade teams down to the competition, held at the Kew High School Gym in chilly conditions.

Final results were mixed, with the A-Grade team finishing runners-up, and the best performing B-Grade team going down in a hard-fought bronze medal playoff. Despite the scoreboard, the tournament was a fantastic success -” a great social atmosphere generated by the Melbourne Spikers, a well-run day, and some great support from their sponsors.

Freezone Volleyball looks forward to correcting the scoreboard results at their own tournament to be held in Sydney on the 19 September, with a number of Melbourne teams travelling up to take them on.
