The new law comes into effect from today.
Forced anal examinations have largely been used to ‘prove’ whether or not a man is gay in countries where homosexuality is criminalised.
The new bill will allow people who were charged or convicted of gay sex offences to have their records cleared.

The Catholic Church has previously threatened to sack gay teachers.
The measure is based on a report stating that “gays and bisexuals were at risk of emotional problems such as depression owing to identity crises while transsexuals are susceptible to mental diseases”.
