The slopes will be white with powder at Gay Ski Week NZ this year.

The magic of winter has arrived in Queenstown, with fresh snow-capped mountains, blue skies and the anticipation of Gay Ski Week NZ high in the air.

With regular snowfalls, the town is pumping and all skifields are reporting excellent skiing conditions.

Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Queenstown is the base camp for the week and is ecstatic with the 450 room nights that have been booked already.

Gaining a reputation as the best gay alpine event in the southern hemisphere, this year’s Gay Ski Week includes another stellar week of entertainment.

Official events include the welcome party, ski bum party, retro bowling night, karaoke casino night, wine tour, lake cruise and dinner at Walter Peak (hosted by DNA magazine), and the final night’s White Out Party with a new venue and special guests confirmed -“ DJ Dan Murphy, DJ Puppy and Kitty Glitter.

New events for people who require a day off the slopes or those who don’t ski are a Dyke Hyke, a spa day at Millbrook Resort and a lunch/shopping day at Arrowtown followed by some chill-out time at the Onsen Hot Pools.

Spaces for some events are limited and require reservations so please check out the website for details to avoid disappointment.

From bungee jumping to a relaxing massage, jet boating to heli-skiing, snowboarding to sky-diving, you can relax, unwind and rejuvenate or find out why Queenstown is the adventure capital of the world.
