Running many of the state’s support groups and services, Living Positive Victoria is an organisation advocating for the rights and wellbeing of people living with HIV.

VAC/GMHC Counselling  Service

VAC/GMHC offers affordable individual, couple and group counselling services for people at risk of or affected by HIV, and for other members of the LGBTI community. The first session is free, with subsequent session costs scaling according to income.

The Centre Clinic

David Williams Fund

The fund provides financial assistance to people living with HIV who are experiencing financial difficulty. Funded by MAC Cosmetics and the sale of red ribbons throughout Victoria, the fund distributes over $100,000 per year. It’s based at the Positive Living Centre.

The centre is a free, confidential legal service run out of VAC/GMHC’s Positive Living Centre for people living with HIV and their partners, carers, family and close friends where legal problems relate to HIV.

HIV and Sexual Health Connect Line

This is an information and referral service for people with questions about HIV and is staffed by professional community and health promotion workers. Staff can provide referrals to appropriate treatment and support services.

Sexually Adventurous Men Project

The SAM Project includes the Down and Dirty website, providing information and resources for men who have sex with men on a whole range of sexual practises. It is reviewed by medical professionals and created in consultation with gay men.
