WHAT’S ON (Melbourne): The Drowsy Chaperone

WANT an excuse to be taken to another world full of hilarity, originality and entertainment from beginning to end?

Then sit back in your seat, relax, let go of all your cares and worries and allow CLOC to entertain you for an evening of total enjoyment, pleasure and fun.

[showads ad=MREC]Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a madcap romp that features an energetic 1920s pastiche score and a book filled with hilarious one-liners and classic musical comedy gags.

It centres on the Man in the Chair who invites the audience to hear his beloved original cast recording of his favourite musical from the 1920s entitled The Drowsy Chaperone.

As he plays the record, the show springs to life and the audience finds itself in a cock-eyed world of romance and intrigue as played by handsomely debonair actors and fabulously glamorous actresses, complete with an aeroplane and an ongoing commentary from the devoted Man in the Chair.

Be prepared to be taken on a journey of joy, laughter and sheer happiness as CLOC provides an opportunity to discover this cleverly original, delightful and rarely performed musical gem.
