AFTER a sell-out season at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and in Sydney earlier this year, Judith Lucy’s first solo show since 2012 is making an encore appearance at the Sydney Opera House in January.

Her show, Ask No Questions of the Moth, reflects on Lucy’s “magnificently terrible” year last year. Lucy is known to not write a show unless she had something to say, and with 2014 providing her with some great content for her fans, she’s ready for this one. Think death and early menopause and you’re pretty much there.

[showads ad=MREC]Lucy first premiered her ground-breaking solo show King Of The Road 20 years ago, which saw her literally tap dancing through the story of her adoption and the ill-advised overseas odyssey that followed. Since then her shows have been unmissable.

However, it hasn’t been all death and menopause since her last solo show in 2012. Her second book, Drink, Smoke, Pass Out was released and she made her second TV series for ABC, Judith Lucy Is All Woman.

Her last show, Nothing Fancy was nominated for a Helpmann Award and her all singing, all dancing book reading with fellow author/comedian Denise Scott sold more than 30,000 seats across the country. This year, Ask No Questions of the Moth won the 2015 Helpmann Award for Best Comedy Performance.

Judith sprang to national attention as a cast member of the iconic Late Show in 1993. Since then, she has headlined feature films, performed to hundreds of thousands of fans from the Sydney Opera House to London’s West End, has released two best-selling books and headlined two documentary series for ABC.

It is virtually impossible to imagine the Australian comedy scene without Judith Lucy and, and she’s heading back to Sydney for a strictly limited season.
