Dancing on the Harbour Bridge

Dancing on the Harbour Bridge

For the first time ever, festival-goers during this year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras can do the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb – but with a fabulous disco twist.

The Mardi Gras Disco Climb sees you and friends climbing to the summit of Sydney’s iconic bridge, where you will be met with a dance floor, music and shiny disco ball for a dance-off in honour of the Mardi Gras season.

“You’re going to be having a lot of fun dancing with your friends on top of the Harbour Bridge,” Climb Leader Brett Camwell said.

“We’re pretty much changing the normal climb into a literal disco climb. It’s a bit insane isn’t it?”

Camwell added that the best part is that you can keep your dance at the top of the bridge as memento with an eight-second video available at the end of the climb.

The climb is also a unique way to experience the best of Sydney, as it also has a focus on the history and connection the city has had to the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

“It never fails to amaze me to see how much the climb impacts people,” Camwell said.

“It’s a special type of experience in my opinion, the bridge is so well-constructed and iconic, it’s hard to imagine Sydney without it.

“It’s a wonderful platform to show off the best harbour in the world and it’s become a must-do in Sydney, as well.”
