Sydney’s Queer Screen Film Festival announces opening movies ahead of festival

AHEAD of its 2015 season in September, Queer Screen Film Festival has announced three of the 12 films that will feature in the line-up for the festival at Event Cinemas George Street in Sydney.

Opening night will see the screening of Boulevard, a movie about a depressed married man working in a dead-end job who meets a young sex worker and develops a relationship with him.

Already critically-acclaimed, the movie is the last movie actor Robin Williams starred in on screen before he died last year.

Other movies announced include Margarita With A Straw, a film that follows Delhi-based university student Laila on her journey of self-discovery, independence and sexual awakening, as well as Cut Snake, an Australian film that centres around a relationship between prison inmates Merv and Jim on the outside as Merv tries to hide his past in the city of Melbourne.
