Zoe’s so excited at Arq

Remember Sara-Marie from the first series of Big Brother and her single, I’m So Excited (The Bum Dance), with the group The Sirens?

Zoë Badwi was one-third of that all-girl trio and has shaken her little booty into a recording contract with Neon Records.

Sirens was great fun. It kinda just ran its course, Badwi told Sydney Star Observer.

Music changed and people weren’t really into the girl band thing any more. I like being in a band and sharing the experience, but there is nothing like singing your own songs.

Being in Sirens I learned a lot about the industry so this time around I know how to deal with situations a lot better.

She’s the voice of the popular club track Release Me (co-produced by TV Rock), which skyrocketed to the top spot on the ARIA club charts and stayed there for several weeks.

This long weekend, you can catch Badwi at Arq Sydney for a special Arena performance on Sunday 7 June. It’s her second time at the venue this year.

Arq was huge. Great sound system there and the crowd was amazing -” they sang louder than me and I loved it, she said.

This time around I will sing Release Me, my brand new single Don’t Wan’cha and I’m on the hunt for my Sirens backing track of I’m So Excited.

Badwi is currently touring the country to promote Neon Essential: Volume One. She recorded a few tracks on the compilation that was mixed by TV Rock and Chardy.

Working with them has been awesome. Apart from the talent they all have, they are great guys, she said.

We have a really fun time together and understand one another musically, which obviously helps in the studio.

A solo album is in the works for the singer but a date is yet to be announced.

info: Zoë Badwi will perform at Arq Sunday on Sunday 7 June. Entry is $35 from 9pm. For more details visit arqsydney.com.au. Neon Essential: Volume One is out now through Warner Music.
