Senior LGBTI people and aged care service providers across the country will now have online access to one of the niche sector’s leaders, Val’s Cafe. The Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia has awarded a $5,000 grant to Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria to take Val’s Cafe to the web.

Val’s Cafe is a regular support group for aged care service providers who are promoting inclusive services for older LGBTI people and is held in Melbourne. It opens six times a year for workshops, guest speakers and networking in Melbourne.

The new grant will allow the organisation to share its wealth of knowledge with the rest of the country, offering training and information on government policy and the latest research.

The Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia is a charity that raises funds and provides grants for other LGBTI community projects and organisations.
