Marrickville’s Red Rattler will host a Queer Service Class and Queer Mommy Dynamics Panel on February 29, 7pm.

Special guest Alix Iron (pictured), visiting from San Francisco, will host the event in conjunction with the Sydney Leather Pride Association.

Ms Sydney Leather 2011 will be the moderator. Miss Kelli Jean, Huckleberry Spin, Holly Zwalf, Vincent Valentine and Bettie Brimstone will make up the rest of the panel.

“This kinky event is a class and panel discussion about negotiated power dynamics between consenting adults,” Iron said.

Organisers hope to shed light on what it means to be a houseboy or girl, and that Mommies exist as well as Daddies.

You may be familiar with the concept of Daddy, but have you thought about Mommy?

The panel will discuss topics including what kinds of service there are; what service means for houseboys/girls; punishment and reward; where Mommy and Boy/Girl fit on the identity spectrum; gender and Mommy and Boy/Girl play; and taboo implications and stigma.

Cost for the panel is $15/$10, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
