Bentstix puts the call out

The fourth annual Pink Hockey Championships took place last month at the Kyeemagh Hockey Field. Three of Sydney’s top GLBT teams fought it out in a round-robin competition with the Mixed Nuts taking out the top spot.

In the meantime, the Bentstix Gay and Lesbian Hockey Club are looking for new members as they host their annual Have A Go At Hockey Day on Sunday 22 March.

This is a fantastic opportunity for guys and girls who are curious about hockey to come and have a go in a casual and friendly environment, plus meet some of the regular players, said secretary Charles Lowe.

Bentstix provides an opportunity for gay men and lesbians to play sport in an accepting and supportive environment. Many of our players came back to hockey after a long break, many played at school and some had never played hockey before they came to Bentstix.

The event will be held at Kyeemagh Hockey Field from 1pm. New players are advised to dress sportily with sticks and pads supplied.
