First look: Snow White
It seems Beauty & the Beast isn’t the only classic fairytale set for a makeover on the big screen.
At the US Comic Convention (aka Comic-con) this week, we got our first look at Universal’s new Snow White reboot, Snow White and the Huntsman, which has been described as a dark, epic medieval fantasy.
Four images of key characters – Snow White (Kristen Stewart), The Queen (Charlize Theron), The Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and The Prince (Sam Clafin) were released.
The film’s producer, Joe Roth, compared to the scope of this new take to Lord of the Rings.
Last week came news that Harry Potter’s Emma Watson was set to star in the new Beauty & the Beast film.
Snow White and the Huntsman will also go head-to-head with another adaptation of the fairytale that’s currently in production, starring newcomer Lily Collins.
A dark reimagining of Snow White was released in 1997, starring Sigourney Weaver as the Queen, to mediocre success.
