Kanye joins Katy for E.T.

Katy Perry has called on the services of Kanye West in a bid to score a fourth consecutive number one hit in America.

The controversial king of hip hop has given E.T. – already a top five platinum selling hit in Australia – a slight urban twist by contributing a spoken intro and rap about probing Mrs Brand.

Nice to hear that he’s teaming with the alien theme!

Kanye also joined Katy on the set on the video (above right), which is being directed by Floria Sigismondi.

It should be quite a spectacle given the director’s previous work with artists like Bjork, Marilyn Manson and The Dead Weather.

In fact, this is the first time she’s directed a mainstream video since Christina Aguilera’s Hurt.

The 26-year-old pop diva, who came up empty at this week’s Grammy awards, is really pulling out all the stops to get that fourth number one hit.
