La Toya does drag

La Toya Jackson has opened up to the New York Post about her new role as a judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, expressing her admiration for drag queens and confirming that her decade-in-the-making comeback album will be released in 2011.

When asked about her second appearance on RuPaul’s hit reality series, the glamorous 54-year-old replied: “This show is just so much fun – it’s very interesting because women can learn a lot from the drag queens.”

La Toya even went as far as describing her stint on the judging panel as educational.

“How do they put the make-up on?” she wondered. “Being there is a total learning experience for me!”

The thinking man’s Jackson was then asked about if she had run into any drag queens dressed like her.

“Yes, I have – it’s funny because La Toya drag queens kind of look like me, Diana Ross and my sister mixed together.”

Toy also confirmed that “Starting Over” will be released by the end of the year – nine years after demos first began leaking in 2002!

When asked to described the album, she said: “It’s strictly dance – all about fun, the lyrics are very personal to me.”

Love Honor and Obey is about being homophobic in the world today.”

“I don’t get it why anyone discriminates,” she concludes. “It’s so the wrong way to live.”
