New York’s Amanda Warner (aka MNDR) provided the cool-as-ice vocals on Mark Ronson’s global hit Bang Bang Bang, but her debut album’s been released with little fanfare – a shame, as it’s a cracking collection of wonky pop that should appeal to those who’ve enjoyed Santigold and Catcall’s albums this year. Opener #1 In Heaven sets the tone: anthemic power-pop from start to finish with more than a nod to ‘80s heroes like Blondie and Cyndi Lauper.
