Freezone take out a spectacular finish
The Freezone volleyballers took home an impressive haul of gold after last Thursday’s finals but the odds had always been in their favour, with six teams in the semis.
Only two teams managed to make it through to the finals, but they more than proved their worth once they were there. Safe Sets White -” who just two weeks ago looked like they wouldn’t even make it to the semis -” took out a gold medal in the B2 division finals.
The Free Spirits did likewise in a close final match against team Edok.
After losing the second set it looked like they might lose the lot but they managed to regroup themselves (in spite of some players having to push through the pain of playing three consecutive matches in one day) and take it out with a stunning 45 degree backhanded spike in the second set.
