Frontrunners seeing red on 25th birthday

Get out of the way lycra people, warns Frontrunners president Ben Jackson, as the runners hit Centennial Park for their 25th anniversary fun run on Saturday October 25.

Centennial Park will be awash in the colour red on the morning as an anticipated 50 or so Frontrunners members, past and present, take on an easy five km jog to celebrate the club’s birthday, hopefully all wearing their official Frontrunners vests.

We’re hoping that many of our former members hear about the event and come along and join in for the day. We’ve had a good year with new members coming on board, so this should be a great opportunity for those guys to catch up with some of the people who have made the club what it is over 25 fantastic years, Jackson told Sydney Star Observer.

The run will be an all-inclusive get-together, with friends, family, and potential members all welcome to come and take part.

We are of course always looking for new members, who are always welcomed with a round of applause. We expect that people might also bring their friends, which is fine, we’re just wanting to see a great turnout.

The run will be followed by a breakfast at the Centennial Park kiosk, where light refreshments and bacon and egg rolls will be on offer.

If you aren’t up for running, you can still celebrate the club’s landmark anniversary by attending the birthday dinner on the night of October 25 at Sugaroom in Pyrmont.

info: Meet at the Paddington gates of Centennial Park at 9am for the start of the run. Tickets for the anniversary dinner can still be bought at www.sydneyfrontrunners.org
