Gaga against Russia
Lady Gaga has gone to social media to show her support for the Russian LGBTI community this week, tweeting: “Sending bravery to LGBTs in Russia. The rise in government abuse is archaic. Hosing teenagers with pepper spray? Beatings? Mother Russia?”
“The Russian government is criminal. Oppression will be met with revolution. Russian LGBTs you are not alone. We will fight for your freedom.”
Gaga joins the growing number of celebrities standing up to the Russian government over their laws forbidding same-sex couples from adopting Russian children and banning “gay propaganda”.
