GALFA calls for assistance

GALFA calls for assistance

The Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia (GALFA) is calling for donations ahead of the end of the financial year, after giving away $10,000 to LGBT community groups in the last 12 months.

GALFA was established in 2009 as a philanthropic organisation to financially assist community organisations helping the LGBTI community.

Thanks to past community donations, GALFA recently donated $5000 to support group Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), $2500 to Victoria’s Gay and Lesbian Switchboard to develop an information database, and $2500 to regional youth support services in New South Wales.

The organisation has donor gift recipient status, so people can made tax deductible donations.

  1. Thank you Starobserver for posting this article. I did not know about the Gay and Lesbian Foundation of Australia. I think it is very important and increasingly so, that GLTBI people support their own charities.

  2. With the sad demise of the ALSO Foundation, GALFA deserves our support. Should acknowledge Vicbears for assisting the Anti-Violence Project & its role in producing four healthy lifestyle posters.
