Mohombi teams up with Akon

While still relatively unknown in Australia, Mohombi is a household name in Europe thanks to a continent wide #1 hit and a little help from Lady Gaga’s favourite producer.

The Swedish-based Congolese singer is super-producer RedOne’s first signing to Cherry Tree Records.

He also produced his breakout hit Bumpy Ride, which surprisingly never took off in this country, and hooked the rising star up with Akon for the next step in his bid for global chart success.

And Dirty Situation might just do the trick.

It sounds custom made for radio with its heavy beats, features a rap superstar and has an undeniably catchy chorus.

The video (below) is pretty standard – lots of booty shaking and posing – but there’s no reason why Mohombi can’t get a slice of the Aussie chart pie.
