August date set for Mardi Gras’ AGM

Nominations for the New Mardi Gras board are now open ahead of the organisation’s annual general meeting on August 19.
Nominations can be made by filling out a form available from NMG’s offices or via the website. The closing date for submissions will be July 22.
Notices of Business for the AGM are also being sought, and must be made in writing to the Company Secretary by no later than 5pm on July 20, if they are to be considered for discussion at the meeting.

Only five board nominations were made last year, leaving three spaces to be filled and rendering a vote unnecessary.

Company Secretary Melanie Miller told Sydney Star Observer at the time the lack of new nominees was a sign members were comfortable with the progress and the results of NMG over the last season.

The company further reported a profit of close to $500,000 following a successful 30th anniversary celebration.

  1. Mardi Gras board? What a thankless job that would be. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy!
