A workplace conference today will teach human resource managers how to set up GLBT employee groups.

The $2953.50 per person Workplace Diversity conference, sponsored by ACON and the Australian Human Rights Commission, has devoted one of its two main workshops to GLBT issues, including branding and initiatives to appeal to the gay and lesbian community.

Diversity Council of Australia CEO Nareen Young and ING Australia’s diversity, flexibility and learning manager Dawn Hough will talk about the experiences of Australian and international corporations who have established gay and lesbian worker groups.

The Diversity Council is working with the National LGBT Health Alliance on a LGBT Corporate Equality Index that will rate Australian employers. The project was announced last July and is still in development.
