Harbour Party line-up announced

Harbour Party 2009 will feature a spectacular array of Australiaʼs favourite DJs – Stephen Allkins, Kate Monroe, Alex Taylor, Peyton and Shigeki – all against the exquisite backdrop of Sydney Harbour.
This annual party is one of the most glamorous of the year with the incomparable setting of the Royal Botanical Gardens at sunset the weekend prior to Mardi Gras.

Last year was our first time running the party and it was a big success. This year we know the ropes and are going to bring the party back to the standard that made if famous, New Mardi Gras Chair David Imrie said.

We think it will be a really magical night.

The party is blessed with one of the most spectacular locations anywhere on the planet. Mardi Grasʼ production expertise and creativity are going to make this a must for gay partygoers the world over.

Bringing more than 25 years of DJ experience, and a history that has had him playing next to the worldʼs biggest DJs such as Carl Cox, Armand Van Helden and Fatboy Slim, Stephen Allkins promises a breath-taking set at Harbour Party 09. The sublimely talented [love] tattoo producer, remixer and DJ is sure to get the party pumping.

NMG has selected a musical line-up as lush as the Harbour-side event itself. Kate Monroe will be showcasing the smooth sexy house that has made her one of the biggest DJs in Sydney, and the skills that earned her a place in the Sydney Olympic Closing Ceremony. Monroe has supported countless international DJs such as Bob Sinclair, played international dance parties including White Party Miami and has released several essential compilation CDs under her own label -“ Mat Recordings -“ as well as SONY, Shock Records and many more. She is legendary for her sets at previous Mardi Gras Parties and Sleaze Balls.

Alex Taylor, whose residencies include Hugoʼs, Arq, Trademark and Home, will bring his inimitable style to the party, with the UKʼs Hed Kandi superstar DJ Peyton joining him in a sunset performance partygoers wonʼt forget.

Returning to Sydney from Singapore, DJ Shigeki will be on the decks later on, with his peerless style of vocal, deep and percussive house. Returning after massively successful previous sets at Harbour Party, and residencies on Atlantis Cruises and nightclubs around Sydney such as HOME and the Midnight Shift, Shigeki will bring the party to a close.

The official after party begins at 11pm at Trademark Hotel, Kings Cross. A bus shuttle will be provided from Mrs Macquaries Point from 10:30pm.
