Leather Pride Week launch proves popular

The launch of Sydney Leather Pride Week at the Oxford Hotel on Saturday afternoon drew a strong crowd.

With the help of sexy DJ George Roussos and Sydney Mr Leather 2009 Anthony Lowe, the week got off to a pumping start.

Sponsored by Sydney Star Observer, the week is Sydney Leather Pride’s chance to draw in new members, get feedback from people interested in the leather community and dispell many of the myths that go with it.

  1. Sydney Leather Pride is dead. A new association is neeeded, one that is inclusive of women in the leather community.

  2. In 1 article here on SSO regarding Manacle in which the owners say “The leather/fetish community have spoken loud and clear and made it exceptionally clear that Manacle is not required” that this event at the Oxford drew a srong crowd. Does it really just depend on location? Was that Manacles downfall? .. As gay men do we think that the grass is always greener somewhere else as the amount of times now I hear that Melbournes Leather scene (and Bear scene) leave Sydneys for dead, what are we missing? What are we not doing right here in Sydney? Am just curious as too why some events work and some dont.
