Peter Fam
The very busy DJ Peter Fam plays at Stonewall on Thursdays, Colombian most Fridays, Midnight Shift every Saturday and Manacle most Sundays. Here he gives us his top five dance tracks at the moment.
STEPPING OUT (Beards Mix)
Kaskade
Anyone who is a fan of vocal house will love the Beards Mix of Kaskade’s new gem Stepping Out. The man has done it again with his trademark full bass and smooth, uplifting, emotional sound. This latest release peaks out of nowhere, then smoothly lowers you back onto your feet. Be warned this one ends way too soon.
MUSIC REVOLUTION (Planet Funk Remix)
The Scumfrog
With a deep, repetitive rock riff and minimal vocals, this is definitely a track for the closet head-bangers and, to be honest, when I don’t see a room slamming out air guitar during this I’m always a little disappointed. I’ve said it all along: More air guitar, people.
TIME OF OUR LIVES (PVD Club Mix)
Paul Van Dyk
This recent track from the man-that-can-do-no-wrong has been successfully slamming dancefloors for a few months now and is going from strength to strength. It’s certainly one that I can’t put away and is Paul Van Dyk at his best. This track starts high and stays high, only breaking for the occasional vocal free-fall.
SECRETS
Miguel Migs
Miguel Migs has done it again with this release, a brilliantly haunting deep soul track that continues to prove that along with wine, his music just gets better with age. Holding true to his trademark mood-music style, Secrets has a quirky, understated bass line that will have your eyes closed and heart warm within seconds.
MAKE ME BELIEVE IN YOU
Behind The Groove feat. Jackie Green
This track has revived my passion for good, strong, funky house. Jackie Green slams out big driving vocals while the clean bass line takes your feet out from under you. If you haven’t heard this before, it’s certainly one you won’t forget in a hurry and is definitely worth a five-minute time-out from the world.
