The Pride In Colour working group is inviting community members to submit a personal story for the proposed 2012 Pride in Colour catalogue, titled diverseCITY.

Pride In Colour is a new group that formed after the December 2010 forum celebrating sexuality, sex, and gender diversity in multicultural communities. In 2011, the forum was followed up by a community consultation at Sydney Town Hall to allow members of the community an opportunity to be heard.

Pride In Colour members quickly came to realise that it is very important to share stories, and are keen for people to send in stories of no more than 2-300 words about their own journeys. Feel free to add your name or write under an alias, but please add your age and nationality. The story can be about your experiences relating to ethnicity, sexuality, religion, age, HIV status, disability, or anything else you’d like to share.

Submissions close on October 17 and stories, artworks and thoughts will be compiled to go into a catalogue as part of the Living In Harmony Festival 2012. This catalogue will be sent to Universities and schools across New South Wales as well as government bodies that deal with multicultural affairs, such as the Community Relations Commission for Multicultural NSW.

info: [email protected] Submissions close on October 17.
