Sleaze ticket buying bonus

As revellers gear up for one of the biggest party weekends of the year, organisers are offering partygoers an incentive to buy Sleaze tickets.

Everyone who buys a ticket to Sleaze from Ticketek will go in the draw to win one return trip for two to Hong Kong.

The prize also includes four tickets to next year’s Mardi Gras party, two tickets to New Year’s Eve party Fantasy, two tickets to Fag Tag DTPM, four tickets to Homesexual and two tickets to Candy Lips.

New Mardi Gras has reiterated its call for the community to buy tickets to Sleaze to ensure there’s enough money in the bank to stage a successful Mardi Gras season next February.

NMG chair Marcus Bourget reminded punters that Sleaze is a Mardi Gras fundraiser.

Sleaze is a chance for all to come together and enjoy ourselves and have a fantastic party while at the same time contributing to something for the greater good, Bourget said.

February is an amazing time in Sydney and it would be a real shame to lose that.

Entertainment at Sleaze will be provided by Australian band Rogue Traders plus singer Melissa Tkautz, while US group Black Eyed Peas are expected to be in attendance on the night but not performing.

The party will be held across two venues at Fox Studios, the Royal Hall of Industries and the Hordern Pavilion.

The unprecedented calls for people to attend Sleaze have arisen from the fact there are so many competing gay and lesbian events on this long weekend.

A concerned group of gay and lesbian organisations last week issued an open letter to the community asking people who have bought tickets to other parties to also buy a ticket to Sleaze.

For many revellers the festivities will start on Thursday night with leather party Indulgence at Midnight Shift, while Friday night will see the underground bash Dirty Donkey being held at Rogues. On Sunday is the sold-out Luminere day party at Luna Park, Fag Tag at the Eastern Hotel in Bondi Junction and Wasabi at Phoenix.

Health officials have warned partygoers taking drugs to do so in moderation and to seek help if they or someone near them gets into any trouble.
