France’s first same-sex wedding has taken place.

40-year old Vincent Autin and 30-year old Bruno Boileau were married in front of 500 guests and media at Montpellier City Hall earlier today, just 10 days after French President Francoise Hollande signed gay marriage into law.

Security was tight at the ceremony, conducted by Montpellier mayor Helene Mandroux, with a small group of anti-gay marriage protestors congregating outside.
