OUTinPerth goes into liquidation

WEST Australian LGBTI magazine OUTinPerth has gone into liquidation.

The OUTinPerth staff reportedly received a phone call from liquidators this afternoon telling them to cease all trading and to clear out their desks immediately, a source told the Star Observer.

OUTinPerth general manager Alexandra Maltby said the staff are extremely said to see the publication in liquidation.

“We hope that the liquidators will find a buyer fast to continue the longevity of publications in Western Australia,” she said.

Ms Maltby said that if anyone is interested in buying the publication, to call (08) 9371 9877.

Graeme Watson, who was the editor at the time of the announcement, joined OUTinPerth in 2011, according to its website.

OUTinPerth was a free monthly magazine available from 230 locations across Western Australia.

  1. Perth gay community is dead. There was never solidarity, or outreach to foster any sense of belongings. It’s Pride events are alienating, bitchy, cold, and best to avoid. Don’t blame the paper, West Ozzies are largely showy liberal voters who rather live their gay lives under the radar, than to hurt their pockets. Boom’s over huns, you have no money, no looks, no rights. Sad.

  2. Terrible. Journalism is in a shaky period. I’m currently studying it and love it. Tough industry though. Sorry to all those affected by this.
