Pride March Victoria’s main fundraising event returns for 2012 with new prizes up for grabs for community groups.

This year’s Bake-off has a new category for community groups with prize money worth up to $300 for the winner. The contest still has its regular categories including cakes, novelty cakes, jams and chutneys.

Pride March Victoria president Shane Marquis said the Bake-off had always been a good day out for the community.

“The Bake-off is our most important fundraiser for the year, without the Bake-off the march wouldn’t happen,” he said.

“The cakes are quite novel, some of them.”

All community groups who participated in this year’s pride march are encouraged to head down to the event.

Registrations open on the day from 2pm while judging begins at 4pm.

The Bake-off will be held at DT’s Pub, Richmond this Saturday, October 6 from 1pm.
